The target diseases include meningiomas, diencephalic and pituitary tumors, craniopharyngiomas, chordomas, dermoid cysts, trigeminal neuralgia, facial spasms, and glossopharyngeal neuralgia.
We specialize in endoscopic transnasal surgery, microcraniotomy, and keyhole surgery for these lesions.
In particular, we focus on minimally invasive surgery using endoscopy and surgeries involving small craniotomies such as keyhole surgery, following in the footsteps of our mentor, Takanori Fukushima

Key hole surgery
When performing microvascular decompression for trigeminal neuralgia, facial spasms, and glossopharyngeal neuralgia, we follow the method of Dr. Takanori Fukushima, using a skin incision of about 3-4 cm and a craniotomy of about 15 mm.
The scars are small and can be hidden by the hair, so the surgical site is not noticeable.
Endoscopic Surgery
Tumors located at the base of the skull can be accessed using an endoscope through the nasal cavity (endoscopic transnasal transsphenoidal surgery).
In transnasal surgery, the nasal cavity is used, resulting in no cosmetic scarring.
Due to the extremely narrow space and deep tissue manipulation, specialized instruments and skills are required for transnasal surgery.
We sometimes collaborate with Drs endocrinology and otolaryngology departments.
We are mentored by Dr. Shozo Yamada, a world-renowned expert in the field of diencephalic-pituitary tumors, and apply these lessons to our daily practice.
